Story-time of Hog head scare!
This is a true story about me running out of my grandma's kitchen after seeing a hog head on the table. My grandmother would always bake a pound cake every weekend and place it on the dining table for everyone to enjoy. No matter what holiday or the time of the year; there was a variety of cakes to come home to eat after school.

My grandma’s cakes were so contagious that I would make several trips a day. In fact I wanted to be the first to get a slice of a fresh baked pound cake before anyone else. Imagine entering into a quiet country hot steaming kitchen, nothing but the aroma of vanilla flavor tickling your nose like a sweet perfume guiding you to enter and eat until your heart's desire.

After gobbling down I slice, I noticed something on the table as I lifted up the silver cake cover one more time. My eyes did not deceive me, there was something on the table. At first, my attention was occupied until I decided to roam around in the kitchen as usual being nosey.

Low and behold on the table was a round enormous hog head placed on a sheet pan. Never in my life had I seen the head of a pig. Of course I was scared to walk closer then I noticed ears and dark eyes and a snout!
Without going any further, I made a run for it without looking back. Of course, you know I slid backwards all the way out of the kitchen running down the porch, out of breath never to return. That afternoon I learned my lesson not to go snooping around the kitchen taking anything without asking my grandmother for a slice of cake.
During the summer my aunt Pat gave me a project to do every month for the church members. How fun is that to make a cake for a special occasion.
